Comment: I've used these since my daugher was 1 mn old. They are terrific. In fact, as she got older I tried other brands and the chemicals in them made her blister.

Summary: Really Expensive; Gave My Daughter a Rash
Comment: After discovering the Target-brand wipes we sometimes use for my daughter contain nasty chemical ingredients like 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol which ranks as a 10 (worst) hazard with the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Database, I bit the bullet and - after researching a bit - decided the 7th Generation wipes would be the most convenient to acquire and safest alternative. The 7th Generation wipes have been given an overall hazard score of 2 on the Skin Deep Database, which is considered to be low; most of the individual ingredients, at a glance, seem to be fairly benign.

I wasn't surprised by the price, nor was I surprised to find these wipes are drier than wipes by Target, Pampers, Huggies - you know the 'big brands.' However, they were so dry as to be a little chaffing, so we often had to wet them a bit with water.

What did surprise me is the horrific rash they caused on my daughter's bottom within the first few days of using them. Ultimately, the remainder of the expensive pack had to be relegated to mom and dad use - what a waste.

Tushies, an even safer brand than 7th Generation in terms of ingredients - and one that we only seem to be able to find, inconveniently, at a health food store 45 minutes from our house - does not cause my daughter's bottom to break out. They are also a wetter, less chaffing wipe, and ultimately I think we'll be switching to those.

The Seventh Generation wipes may work well enough for some, but I was both displeased with them in terms of functionality and the fact that the ingredients do not seem to be as hypoallergenic as... well, any other wipe we've tried. Ever. So they were a huge disappointment for me.

For anyone considering using these, I would definitely recommend trying a single pack to be sure your child does not have a reaction to them before delving into some huge 30-odd dollar purchase of a 12-pack. That's a painful bit of money to separate yourself from for something you may not be able to use.

Comment: I am going to join the others who think that the new wipes are less than desirable. I could live with the fact that they are packaging 70 wipes rather than 80, IF the wipes were of good quality. But unfortunately the packaging is not the only thing that has changed. The wipes are indeed smaller and drier. But, for me the real deal killer is the smell-very chemically and pervasive. Do yourself a favor and buy an individual package before committing to a whole case.

Comment: We bought this case of wipes a month before our daughter was born. We ran out when she was about 9 months. They are nice and clean and environmentally friendly. I would recommend this to any family who is expecting or is sick of the brand name kind.

Summary: I like the new formula better than Earth's Best
Comment: Maybe I'm the only one, but I actually like the new wipe formula. They've improved the scent a lot in my opinion, and I also like that the new wipes seem smoother and less abrasive than the old ones.

I recently tried Earth's Best wipes based on all the great reviews, but I'm back to Seventh Generation despite the slightly higher price. Why?

One basic reason: When you pull a Seventh Generation wipe from the container, the next one almost always pops up after it. With Earth's Best, it seemed like I was always having to dig into the package for the next wipe because it hadn't popped up like it was supposed to. It's especially annoying when you're changing a poopy diaper and you have only one hand free.

I agree with others that the Earth's Best wipes have a slightly better scent and texture, but Seventh Generation wins out for ease of use.

Oh, and Amazon's Subscribe & Save price is the best I've found on these!
